As COVID-19 lockdowns shut hotels, gyms, and community spaces down across North America in 2020, smart-rowing machine provider, Aviron, quickly recognized their B2B business model was in need of a pivot.
After proving product-market fit with steadily growing D2C sales through 2020 and into early 2021 – and eyeing a Series A fundraise – Aviron wanted to double-down on their consumer brand.
ARENA was engaged to provide Aviron with consumer insights, marketing and communications strategy, a refreshed branding and visual identity, and a relaunch campaign.
ARENA worked with the Aviron team to position their product as the link between human competitiveness, gaming, and fitness. Competition and self-improvement wrapped in one machine, we rooted AVIRON’s brand strategy on gaming insights that reflect a community-driven approach to exercise.
We reinvented the consumer-facing brand across all touchpoints with a tightened logo, electric colors, bold fonts and impactful imagery.
Since ARENA and Aviron’s engagement, the brand closed their Series A round of funding lead by Samsung Next and Y-Combinator, with media coverage from Forbes, Tech Crunch and more calling Aviron a company to watch out for.
